formsPlayer

formsPlayer is a full-featured XForms processor that provides a complete implementation of the W3C's XForms specification, available in today's browsers. formsPlayer is currently available for Internet Explorer on Windows, with versions for other platforms in progress.

How to choose a version and build

If you have purchased a license

If you have licensed formsPlayer for deployment to your customers or on your intranet, then you will almost certainly be using version 1.4. Version 1.5 is still being tested and is not quite ready for widespread deployment. If you are testing version 1.5 ready for deployment to your customers, then please note that we are prioritising bugs reported to us by our technology partners. Using the community edition

formsPlayer will normally show icons when used without a purchased license. However, the latest builds of formsPlayer always include a free license which lasts for about three months. This means that as long as you keep upgrading, you can use formsPlayer for free in any of your projects, and we call this the community edition. (And if you need to 'freeze' the version of formsPlayer that you use in your application, then you can easily purchase licenses that will permanently disable the icons.)

Developer releases

If you are a developer and want to test the latest features in formsPlayer, try one of the builds from the 'Development snapshot' section. These will have been tested by us, but will not yet have been tested by the community. Depending on feedback, a developer release might get promoted to 'best build' status, and become the new community edition.
