formsPlayer 1.5.0.1035 beta release does not install/work with IE7

Because the latest 1.4 formsplayer does not work (well) in the latest Internat Explorer 7 I tried the latest 1.5 (beta). After installing formsPlayer beta release 1.5.0.1035 on a Windows XP Prof SP2 box with the latest IE7 (Version 20061027.150806) and rebooting, you get quite some (about 20?) error window popups at login-time telling it "Windows cannot find C:\Program; ...". At one occasion I also noticed "msmx" being mentioned in some windows title.
Also the player does not render any XForms.
Removing the beta software solves the annoying window messages but leaves me in the cold with IE7.

Solved with 1.5.0.1036

TNX for the suggestions. As version 1.5.0.1036 was available I tried that first with success (except for an "XBLResolver Error: Error loading binding 'file://C:\Program Files\Common Files\x-port.net\XForms\chrome\xbl\ephemeral.xbl', The system cannot locate the object specified."

This is a bug

Thanks for reporting that error message; I've just had a quick look and this is a bug. We are expecting to have a new release ready fairly soon and will make sure that this fix gets included.

Installer log required

Hi,

From what you describe, it sounds like the installation process failed on your machine for some reason. If the problem persists, it would help if you could run the installation with logging enabled. Microsoft Knowledge Base article 314852 describes how to do this, but it basically involces adding the following value to your registry:

Key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\Installer
Value Type: Reg_SZ
Value Name: Logging
Value: voicewarmup

If you run the installation again with this value in your registry, a log file will be generated in your TEMP directory, named something like Msi?????.log. Post me the contents of this file via my contact form and I shall take a look at what is going wrong.

Regards,
Phil.

My setup works very well...

I don't know why it's not working on your computer, but mine works very well.

Like you, my OS is Windows XP Professional with Service Pack 2. I'm having Windows Internet Explorer 7 final installed with the lastest version of formsPlayer (1.5.0.1035). I didn't have any issues when I've updated from the previous release, and the forms I'm working on do work as expected.

Maybe there could be a bug between another software and FP on your workstation.
